A few evenings ago, I sat back and went through the whole picture album. I was speechless. Especially looking at the anorexic young boy I was. More so, to see again what we all looked like at that time and the changes I saw you that I remember, go through after I left. New faces were plenty as well. it took me back to a rather turbulent(sp?) time but also a significantly easier time.
It made me think of all that I have been through over the last 21 years. As well as what I have accomplished. the Creek helped me far more than I would have ever realized back then and it has partly shaped who I am now. I still have a rough time of it every now and then. I guess that is life though. I do use the skills that I learned back in that time and it helps.
Hearing from Scott on the telephone was absolutely wonderful. It touched my heart to know that someone from that time cared enough to reach out. It means a great deal to me. Scott and Derek both echoed the sentiment that we were family then. Even though we have grown and continued our lives elsewhere I still feel that bond. Maybe not so much the rest of you but I do. We shared our good times and our bad, Our sorrows and pains and joys and laughter. New experiences and the tales of old ones. Stteve and Nancy were our surrogate parents for our time there and we had many aunts and uncles in the Staff members. Some of us got ourselves into some serious trouble but they believed in us and gave us a chance even when we didn't want to take that chance because we didn't feel worthy of it. Some of this I speak with myself in mind but it applied to us all at one point or another.
Those of you that posted pictures, thank you. Thank you for bringing back so many good memories. Alll of them are now. Even staying the 4th of July 1983 in Spokane Juvenile Hall. Don K., Thank you for our conversation on the way back. Steve and Nancy, Thank you for starting the school. I hope that this isn't a flash for our Alumni family and then it fades. I really look forward to seeing you all again. I do miss you all. Call if you would like. Drop me an e-mail and I will gladly send you my number!

Hey, I miss everyone too, I do not miss the food. That said, All of you who have not posted pics yet,... should!. It makes some one happy, and is that not what being a virtual commune of ex vegitarian juvinile delinquent mountaineers is all about?. If you need help just ask. I hope there are no more pics out there of us relieving our selves.

Hey all
so here it is , new news. I got hired on with MRL (montana rail link). The benefits are killer, retirement ,excellent medical, 401k,profit sharing, the works.Im stoked.
It`s all new to me, after working since I was 19 in the timber industry. But change can be good ,and this one is.It`s hard on the family, me being gone all week , but ya know I`ve come to appreciate the wife and the kids in a whole new light. Never take anything for granted!!!Grab your loved one up each night and hold him/her and tell them just how much they mean in your life!!I`ll update as the progression accures.I miss all of you i knew up there very much.Hope your lives have blossomed the way mine seems to have.
My first assignment I landed is on a thermite crew here in Thompson Falls ,so I`m very happy(as well as the family).Keep me in mind that I remain safe everyday, and its a pleasure of being part of all your lives then n now.

Kevin, that is absolutely wonderful news! I put in an appplication to Norfolk Southern as a Conducter. The progression being on that one is to an Engineer. It has been a dream of mine for years! Ok since I was old enough to know what trains are! I am so happy for ya Red!
As I said in my earlier post, you all are like family. Some not as much only because you were after my time at the Creek. But we all have a common bond. The Creek. I don't know if I will be able to make the reunion this year but will definately keep it in mind when scheduling other trips and working. Now that i am totally retired I have to have a job to make ends meet. Spousal support and divorce have played havoc on my wallet! I am waiting to hear from Stihl of America. I would be a Quality Assurance Technician in the Crankshaft division. Good pay and bennies there too. Wish me luck?
Derek, you hit the nail on the head! Ex-vegetarian juvenile delinquents! Funny but true!!
